Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
Tonight these two met on the subway in front of me.
The man on the right sat down and played Neil Young’s “Don’t Let It Bring You Down” for the one on the left.
After the man on the left confessed he had no money to give, the one on the right said all he needed was good vibes.
Then they exchanged names, wished each other well, and said goodnight.
So two things, you guys:
1. We’re all gonna be all right.
2. My god, I love New York City.
The dude on the right is the best and knows every damn Beatles song.
I hate the guy on the right. He is the worst. I switch cars on the L Train when I see him… because he has a habit of playing a song to a girl next to me, thus standing directly infront of me.
He has accidentally hit me with his guitar a dozen times.
I’m with Pat on this one.
This guy got very aggressive with me and would not leave me alone. He came up to me and started singing Beatles songs at me while I was waiting for the L train to leave. I was tired and trying to listen to my iPod. I politely said to him, “I’m sorry, but I’m really tired and just want to listen to my iPod, could you not do that at me.” (yes I said “at me”, I’m not going to fix what I said). The guy gets angry and says, “You know what man? You’re a REAL ASSHOLE!” and I was kind of surprised by it but was going to let it slide until he kept going on and on trying to look around the train to let people know that I, Frank Hejl, someone who was trying to just keep to his fucking self on the train and not have some stranger poorly sing and perform Beatles songs in his face, was a complete and total asshole! I started to argue with him for a bit but then stopped when I realized I wasn’t helping my case. I just told him to leave me alone.
He ranted for a few more minutes and then headed down the train to sing to other people and STILL even then I would hear him mention me and point . All while these passengers looked my way and shook their heads like , “some people just can’t appreciate a good gesture”. FUCK YOU!
And you know what else?! That was the second time this dude did that to me! First time was when Bryce and I were waiting at the 2nd Ave. F train stop.
So you know what? Fuck that guy and his shitty Beatles covers!
Wow. Maybe I am an asshole. I just took a completely positive and uplifting post and ranted about some stranger.
Sorry about that, Chris. That dude and I just happen to have some bad history. Ha.
sometimes i miss living...new york city. shit like this doesn’t go
